This is one of my favourite paintings by an American artist called Andrew Wyeth. It's called "Christina's World" and it's one of his best known. The Christina in the foreground of the painting is disabled and unable to walk.

Most of Wyeths paintings are of the landscape and people of the famming community he lived in. I love the paintings for their detail, their naturalistc colouring and the dignity and elegance he gives his subjects.
